Even though it’s been many months since Taal volcano erupted, scientists from The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology are still keeping a close eye on it and monitoring activity as there is a risk of Taal erupting again.

The intensity of the eruption caused lightning storms and even though there is a scientific explanation of this phenomenon, people who witnessed the eruption first hand claimed it felt very much unusual or even out of this world.

The Philippines are located on the Pacific’s ring of fire and volcanic explosions and earthquakes are quite common in this area.

Residents from the surrounding areas are now back in their homes but have been warned to be ready to leave again if necessary.
